Chosen Family

Namaste and Salaam to everyone! Welcome to Winter! According to the calendar- it is officially SOLSTICE and we should be doing some sort of Pagan ritual. I suggest a Snoopy-esque Happy Dance! There is no snow in Vancouver….but Cypress and Grouse Mountains are mere minutes from my place and we MAY actually go up!!!! Booooyah!! I anticipate a SHRED in my immediate future!! Yep. Still can’t navigate a pair of skis but my old Burton FL is getting its annual tune-up as we speak!!!
I will keep you posted. :)
This week I’m guessin everyone is runningcrazy with “Christmas” anticipation. If you are flying-please try to enjoy the process. Why not? You are likely en route to relatives? (Or Bali??? LOL! I wish!)
Most of the pals I have are not travelling “home” as they spend Christmastime with friends.
Chosen Family.
For reasons happy and for reasons sad. I know a lot of people for whom “family” has been an awful, triggering concept. Many of my friends carry with them the scars of abuse. Om Nama Shivaya. I wish you love on your liflong journey of healing. *hugs*
And, some of us have done The Work. It is a journey…so remember to be gentle with yourself: its YOUR healing process…there are hiccups. Honor them. Love yourself. Just sayin.
As adults, as busy people, many of us find ourselves unable to see our mommies/families this time of year…so we “play Christmas” with our comrades. I think this is beautiful! My pal, Denise (Chula’s mom) spends every Christmas with her friends in a cabin on the Sunshine Coast. They do it every year. It is a lovely and loving tradition, and allows them to enjoy what otherwise would be a “weird” and “isolating” time of year. I think a few other people I know have their friends over for “Christmas Dinner” and make a tada! TOFURKEY!!! LOL!
Family is whoever shows up. That’s pretty neat!
Family is whom we CHOOSE.
Don’t lose your minds over “Christmas”. It’s a birthday-a religious holiday.
Its only one day. :)
Don’t let it bug you. And remember- little kids like it a lot! Embrace that!
I am sending everyone all of my love and wishes of happiness….from the photo we see Nicklas with his “family”, even though Sri Annastasia is not here…Chula and Shaggy ARE. Hare Om!
Eat lotsa vegetables!!!!!!! Kiss a turkey!!! Kiss your friends! Have some chocolate! Hug yourselves!
You are LOVED!
Bliss and Highest Blessings to you, BeautifulOnes.
See you at Cypress!
Love,
Biffy

Christmas is an outpouring of unconditional love. If I had a choice that would be it in abundance for everyone. Happy Holidays

The Sunshine Coast is a great place for holidays. I have family up in Powell River and I always have so much fun there. It’s a very long trip though so I only go up maybe once a year.
I think I’ll move back there when I’m old :)
