Raising Eyebrows..

Namaste, BuenasDias, Sussreekall, Salaam and big loveyBlessings to Everyone! So much love+happiness+prosperity to you all on Guru Nanak’s birthday! Let’s all share in the good feelings. :)
Om Shanti Om.
In my home we always celebrate EVERYTHING so, of course, today will be a birthday party (like Nov.23:Sai Baba’s birthday, and Dec.25:Jeesus’ birthday).
Good times.
I also trust everyone has recovered from the “costume” thing (Halloweenie). I Don’t generally participate as I don’t really go “out to parties” and everyotheryear I was usually playing a gig. I do dress my babydog in the SAME lion costume that I do every year. Or Late Sri Annastasia’s ladybug costume. Dogs don’t really like clothes, I’m guessing, but my Nicklas is always a good egg!
Most of my personal friends were attending parties. They all spent a lot of time+effort on costumes.a lot of people went dressed as “famous people”. Lots of “Lady Gaga”s and “Michael Jackson”s. We all love playing someone else-even if just for a night!
I was asked WHO I would “want to be for a day”???
Obviously, my knee-jerk responses were many, and listed such people as:
“Pallative care nurse”
“Soup-kitchen cook”
“Death metal bass player”
“Cabbie”
My pal dismissed my offerings, and said I “HAD to come up with FAMOUS peope”.
Sheesh! Everyone’s a critic!
*sigh* and I just couldn’t imagine!
So, I thought I would share with you, my final choice (after naming, in no particular order: Mariah Carey (rollerskating), Angelina (duh!!!!!!!!!!!! ), Anais Nin (brain) and, finally…..ta-da!!!
Frida Kahlo (see photo above). Yup. The Mexican Artist. Not just because she is a perfect example of someone who took their own pain like a champ, and made art out of suffering (which is extremely inspiring to romanticizing-everything-grrrls such as myself) but……..for her eyebrows.
Her SHEER BEAUTY in BEING HERSELF! One leg comprimised from polio remedied with the long skirts. Bedridden? Create art. And SUCH BEAUTY! Timeless. Classic. Surreal.
And the EYEBROWS! WHAT I WOULD GIIIIVE to have my stupid eyebrows!
I would be so grateful I would totally grow em, together. Totally! Unibrow! Booyah! LOL!
I encourage the embracing of personal uniquenesses and making art out of pain. In our society, it seeems everyone wants to be someone else.
Except Nicklas. He KNOWS he has it good. He is always grateful.
And I am alwaysalwaysaLways grateful…..but,admittedly, it does kinda bug me that my eyebrows won’t grow back.
Just sayin.
LOL!
Have a grrrrreat week tony-the-tigers, and remember: its a new month. Feel renewed and know you have a clean slate everyday!!!!
You can do anything!
Just remember to be yourself.
You are absolutely perfect. *hugs*
Now get out there and show the whole fucking world.
Hare Hare Om.
Bliss and love,
Biffy

The timing & message of this post is TOTALLY AMAZING. Long sad story but I truly was just sitting here, feeling sorry for myself, when a tweet beckoned me over to the blog. As soon as I saw the photo accompanying this post, I started to get weepy-eyed. (I know: I am a suck! LOL) I saw Biffy first in the photo; Frida a close-second. Thank you so very very much for this message. As an artist, as a woman, as a human being, Frida Kahlo was truly one of a kind. (And her uni-brow was ALSO one of a kind – har de har har!) You, my dearest Biffy, are also one of a kind. Thank for the continued love, inspiration & positive energy.

Two things:
1) I didn’t know that I shared my bday with Sai Baba.
2) “…Dogs don’t really like clothes, I’m guessing…”
I beg to differ! My chihuahua @funston gets really cold and appreciates all his warm and fuzzy sweatshirts and sweaters, especially when it’s a tad windy on the bike. Proof! http://www.flickr.com/photos/tarabrown/2775486210/. Granted, now that we live in Venice Beach and not Vancouver, Seattle or San Francisco, he prefers his birthday suit and a pair of sunglasses http://www.flickr.com/photos/tarabrown/3693263262/in/set-72157605027382490/
Love your tweets, your blog, and your music! Keep up the inspiration! – @tara

My dog loves his vampire costume and his silly doggie shirts, since he’s huge usually I have to cut the sleeves for him. I guess some puppie like to prance around in clothes :)

I didn’t know you were a Kahlo fan, Biffy! I studied her in middle school and high school and I found to be absolutely fascinating. Thank you very much for sharing! :)
