Something In the Air…

Namaste, Salaam, Sussreekall, Gootentag, Word-to-yo-Mutha, Bonjour, and Meckalecka Hy-Meckahineyho! I hope everyone is in a state of serendipity and increasing well-being. Sending you hugs and Infinate Energy. (not to mention high-fives, a thumbwar, and the fuckin’ horns!) LOL!
As many of you know, I have been home from the road for a week. I have subsequently had a heinous cold (rhinovirus) for a week. An avid, near-OCD handwasher…I blame the airpane air. Why not?
(technically I should blame myself for not wearing a hepa-mask or a gasmask or, at the very least-a simple surgical mask)
It may very well be inevitable, on an airplane, to be exposed to alllll those strangers’ exhaled breath. (see above photo, that I took on said flight!!!)
Collective, group Pranayama and Pranic Breath meditations aside……this seems kind of disgusting. LOL!
And, yes, they are also subjected to MINE. (which may or may not smell like coffee, toothpaste, Dentyne cinnamon gum, or Juicyfruitsugarless gum, or the naughtynaughty Watermelon Bubbleicious..or toothpaste. In that order.)
I have had ALOT of experience with air travel. I mean-ALOT! Seventeen-hour flights, plane-changes, evacuated airports-while-we-try-to-find-the-gear, cancelled-flights-and-resulting-missed-connections, chairs that fold-into-a-bed, too-small-chairs-that-dont-recline, pukeing babies behind our chairs, snoring old men, crazy-convicts-needing-arrest-upon-arrival,and lots and lots of very nice fellow passengers. Seen it all. Love it all. Grateful for having had the many opportunities to see the World and to go play shows there.
Without air travel…I wouldn’t have been able to be where I am. (on every level) Though I am hand-wringing, now when I travel, about all the fuel.
I’m sorry, Beloved Earth. For all the flights I have taken in my luckyasslife. Buuuuuttt….
I am grateful.
Om nama Shivaya.
I even enjoy flying. (but, you know me…I enjoy just about everything for fucksake! nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!) I do NOT eat on airplanes (cant-my stomachache would be sooooo bad!!! yup…had lots of learning-the-hard-way! And not even “plane food”. We are talking ANYTHING! Even banana or an apple or anyanyanything.)
My luggage was lost, once, en route from Frankfurt to Madrid. It was on my first European promotions/press tour..and i was very nervous for its entirety (thats why I remember exactly when it happened). then, a couple years ago, a flight from Costa Rica (where I was filming) to Amsterdam (where my tour was starting) lost my luggage. THIS was bad as I had ALL my tourclothes+film clothes in the bag. (they eventually found it…but I played the first few shows on that tour, in my uglyass jeans-from-the-planeride!)
Then…my third-ever time losing luggage was THIS WEEK!
Hey! THATS PRETTY GOOD, when you consider how many thousands of times I did NOT lose my luggage!!!!!! Right?
Jacen also lost HIS bag. All the gear was cool. jason’s luggage was cool. And Flavio flew to NewYork (his luggage was also fine).
I am happy to report that both Jacen’s+my bag were returned promptly. HOOORAYY!
(but…and I know YOU GUYS would never do this-because you know better…..but I put my hand-me-down-laptop-that-I’ve-only-had-for-almost-a-year-and-it’s-my-first-computer-ever INSIDE my stupidsuitcase!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Lets all say it, together; “DUUUUH!”
well…by The Grace of God+The Entire Universe, NOTHING WAS AMISS!
How lucky am I?????? LOL!
It is definately the VERY LAST TIME I will do that!!!
Luckyluckylucky!
I am also getting through the “rhinovirus” quickly. I feel better everyday..and the schnoz is less runny. Thank you, to everyone, for all your good wishes and all the positive energy.
I send my love back to you times-a-million!!!!! *gush*
And, I send my love to WESTJET http://westjet.com for helping us recover our bags so quickly and for telling us lots of jokes on the flights.
Beautiful People, I hope you experience Bliss on the weekend. You,officially, have one week until Halloween. LOL!
Highest Blessings and Hare Krishna to You all…
love,
Biffy

I love WestJet. The seats are really small and it’s cramped, but everyone is so friendly and they’re always crackin jokes over the PA!
I hear ya about eating on the plane. I always feel sickly when I fly. Last time I flew I got the worst headache ever. Probably from the changes in altitude. It lasted like…12 hours too. I would never wish that pain on anyone. Yikes!
Glad you got your luggage back!

Glad the luggage was recovered, I know your pain on THAT score ;D
Buuuut, Westjet really are a good airline and do their level best to make things right when they don’t necessarily go that way!
Love the blog, Bif, uplifting and a good reminder that we are lucky beings in the vast expanse that still sends love to us all.
Best to you,
Dee
