I am very lucky that my boss sends me on a week of training every year - this time data warehousing in San Diego - but I really need to step it up!! I have always wanted to take a sound engineering course, a motorcycle course, german and spanish lessons - i gotta get on it! This blog reminded me of a fantastic story about my great aunt Rose - back in the 50's, she decided that she wanted to be a flight attendant so she went to the mass interviews that were being held in a fancy Vancouver hotel. She was told that they reallly liked her personality but that she wasn't slim enough to be a flight attendant ( her sister telling the story said that they were crazy because she was gorgeous ) but they said that she could come back once she had lost some weight. So she told them to shove it and that she was going to become a pilot so she could fly the plane herself - and she did! Apparently quite a feat for a women in that decade - especially a Saskatchewan farm girl! Still alive today and one of the most inspirational people that I know! Anyways, have a fantastic day!!
