Answers to Your Questions…

Namaste! Salaam! Hola! Howdydoo! Bonjour! And especially Salaam Alaikum as we all honor Ramadan. :)
Om Nama Allah. Om Nama Shivaya. Om Nama Ganesha+Sri Nicklas (see photo). :)
I hope everyone had a beautiful week, enjoying life and feeling lovenergy and positivity! Life is pretty cool, non? We are all so lucky!
I have had a crazy week and have navigated many things keeping my head above the waters. I am grateful. And, Beautiful Ones, I am grateful for you!!!
Where would I be without you?!!
I want you to know that! *hugs*
In fact, I know a lot of you send great messages to me, and a lot of you ask me questions. (If you’re wondering why the comments are moderated, it is because of some dangerouslymentally ill people…and that is as far as I will share any “stalking” situation).
As you know, I like to focus, as much as possible, on “positivity”, with my notes here. Shanti Om. Peace. Y’know?
Anyhoo….as I am grateful to and for you, I would like to answer some “repeat” questions I get asked. Feel free to ask more, and I will answer them. Notoriously long-winded, I have to keep my answering to “ten” questions at a time, or the blog would be EVENFUCKINGLONGER!!!!! Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
Here is a sampling:
1.”Why do u love bananas so much?”
-because they remain one of the only foods that don’t give me a stomachache.
Dangerbelly is my curse. Everything gives me a stomachache and always has, my whole life. But I won’t go into it too much as iit would be jus’ bellyaching about something! LOL!
2.”Why don’t u wear your wedding ring?”
-because I get edema in that arm since surgery/chemo/radiation and my fingers get swollen, plus I am afraid of losing it.
Plus its fancy and I don’t want to lose it or wreck it.
3.”Will u get another dog because Anna died?”
-no. Nicklas is getting old and he is extremely indulged+spoiled and he is very focused upon. He is happy, right now. Unless we had to take one from an abuser. That is a totally different situation. Nick would wholeheartedly support that. Nuff said. RESCUERESCUERESCUE ANIMALS PLEASE! :D
4.”Who is your favorite band?”
-that is a hardhardhard question. I would have to simply say what I listen to most frequently: DJCheb I Sabbah, Bhagavan Das, Amrinder Gill, Krishna Das, Jai Uttal, Jeff Buckley, Three Inches of Blood, Elbow, Niyaz, Otep, Tarkan, Spinnerette, and old Shelter, to name JUST A FEW! LOL!
5.”What is your favorite tv show?”
-i never watched tv as I didn’t even own/want one before Walker moved in. I like Iron Chef and NCIS but that’s all I ever see, really. (And only tivo/recorded as I do not see it till bedtime and I fall asleep within 5min of anything so it takes weeks to even see one episode. I do not watch dvds except on the bus when the guys are watching something)
6.”Who is your favorite designer?”
-like trying to answer “fav band” question, the list is long but I will only mention a couple, here: American Apparel, Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, OlsenHaus, and Mac+Jac. I like to seek out the “vegan” haute couture, ya feel me?
7.”What do you wear to bed?”
-gonch. LOL!
8.”What is your lifelong dream?”
-youre lookin’ at it, Kid. :)
9.”What are u reading?”
-i actually always have about four or five different books on the go! Currently I’m exploring, “Palliative Care Perspectives”, (by James L. Hallenbeck), “Superfoods”(by David Wolfe), and “The Wisdom of the Prophet”(selections from The Hadith, translated by Thomas Cleary) in honor of Ramadan. I am still on my “book fast” of not BUYING anymore books…but there is one out about *gasp* bananas (and fair trade and the banana business) that I’m obviously curious about.LOL!
10.”What is your pet peeve?”
-believe it or not, I get asked this ALLLL the time, being accused of being “too optimistic to be real”, etc.etc. And, I get that. Its not a stupid question. Obviously, ALL of us “hate” the same things: mean people, violent people, injustice, etc.etc. But as far as a real irritation, I would have to relent and say, truthfully, it is racism. Oh, and homophobia. Oh, wait! there are sooo many things. But those are my top two that I will NEVER understand in people on this planet. Okay, and harming kids or animals. Or old people. Awww, shit. Any harming. You get the picture. :)
I hope some of those answer a mere smattering of some frequent questions from you, my Beloved Friends. I will try to answer more.
I hope you will all have a mostbeautiful weekend filled with creativity, fun, and happiness. I send you all energy and high-fives from my heart! You fucking rule.
Go get em! Boooyah!!!! Om Hare Om.
Bliss and blessings and love,
Biffy

I just about died reading number 4. It’s so cool that you listen to Otep and Spinnerette! You, Otep Shamaya and Brody Dalle of The Distillers/Spinnerette are three of my main heroes.

Bif, I love the energy you always give in everything you share with us, your loving listeners. Your tweets, your blogs, your music, everything you give is love, love, love and that is why you remain one of my favorite artists ALWAYS. You are filled with spirit, music, and bananalove, and I love that about you. Things are often rough for me in my lil corner of the world (as I know it is for many all over the world), and it gets tricky to always see the positive. But getting to be a part of the love vibes you send out helps to remind me that an optimistic heart can do miraculous things for how we experience what comes our way (be they blissful or harmful). So, I thank you a million times over from every bit of my own heart and spirit! You are love greatly and are loved greatly, you and Nicklas both! ;) Take care, and thank you once again. and again. and again. You get the idea. heh.

That’s cool, Bif! Not a lot of celebrities answer their fans’ questions. You are so awesome! I thought you guys moderated the site to keep out spam, but I bet you get some crazies in here too! About your tummy problems.. I have a problem very similar to yours. I have IBS – Irritable Bowel Syndrome. As a result I have a very strict diet (vegan) just like you. Bananas are certainly a wonder-food. :)
I’ve read some studies that they can actually help aid digestion and abdominal cramping. GO GO BANANAS!! :)

I can totally relate about how people think you’re not real when you are so positive all the time. I used to get accused of being on drugs when I worked for Taco Bell because I was so positive and peppy and upbeat all night every night. I was a total square back then, but of course people couldn’t possibly believe that I was just naturally happy. It gets hard nowadays, as I’m sure you more than understand. But my own personal pet peeve is people being angry all the time for no reason.
Racism, I don’t condone by any means. But I think I can actually understand a little of where it comes from. My parents and granparents are all prejudice against many things that they don’t happen to understand. I think knowlege is the cure for it. The more you know about a certain group or condition the better you can appreciate it.
Thanks for being you! So many of us appreciate it more than you know! You use your personality to bring us all up as much as you use your talent.
By the way, my dad is a survivor from a Zeus attack! Hit by a lightening bolt Thursday night and back home Friday morning, working that night. Amazing! I need to spend a lot more time with him. You never know when something like that is going to happen and when it can end the life of a loved-one. I’m very lucky to have my dad still standing.

I had another lovely dream about you, all we ever do is talk and be friends. We were actually getting some kind of vaccination(?), and everybody said “you just missed her!” I ran to the parking lot and there you were. You hugged me. I am grateful for dreams cuz that is the only way that would happen I think. You are always nice to me in dreams even if you are impatient. Thank you for you, you inspire me to be a musician and also a nurse. Many blessings and I will be a fan forever I think

OMG Best Blog Ever Biffy ! And NO you are NEVER LONG WINDED. that is the least of your worries. just Ramble On ! if you know what i mean ha. k, questions: what is the symbol on your pretty earrings (which also appears at the end or the track listing at the bottom on the back cover of “the promise”) – i know it’s something meaningful and powerful, i just am an average north american and don’t know enough about other cultures…i should…i know…and it’s my goal to…soon. bye!

I sort of think it’s too bad Brody turned her back on her strengths in an attempt to shed the accusations of being a Courtney Love soundalike and because people said the Distillers sound was passe.
Granted, they weren’t doing anything new, but the songs were still really good.
Spinnerette just seems like she’s trying too hard to show range. But the music isn’t very good.
Same thing happened with Gavin Rossdale. He got sick of being called a Kurt Cobain wannabe, so went in another direction and the music suffered because of it.
Wannabes should embrace their wannabeism and there should be no shame in critically unacclaimed music.

hahah people need to ask better questions than this!! i mean like shit thats more interesting, like whats your favorite all time cartoon when you were growing up?
what was yor favorite toy when you were a child and why?
shit liek this i would rather read than who is your favorite band, and food. i like more intimate deeper questions….i guess thats the journalist in me.

Hey Biffy!! I really respect that you take the time to talk to us through your blogs and interviews and such, it really means a lot, and it keeps that devotion between us going strong :):) *hugs*! Uuuuummm I have a question! What is your favorite scent of perfume? I remembered that you collect it and I was curious…. I can’t wear it cause my boyfriend’s family is allergic :S I can still wear my cotton candy body spray, THAT doesn’t affect them, thank goodness :) I know I may have to ask this a few times cause you might miss this entry but, hey! You could always tweet it to me haha! ^.- Talk to you later girlie, YOU RULE!!!
