The Here+Now of HOTNESS…

Namaste and Salaam and HOLYJEEEEEEZ its a hot tamale, non? I am sending you biglovey energy from my humble place on this blessed planet. Ahh, yes….we are yammering on about the suprising wave of exciting weather, here in Vancouvie. (I’ve included photos of my, personal view of the sunset, from my balcony. That moment was 34degrees!!!)
Yup. Clothing optional weather! LOL!
It has been tremendously, unusually hot. I have been surviving on kachumber salads (cucumber, tomato, sweet onion) which may or may not be related to the famous Shirazi salads (same ingredients) and equally as soothing to the body.
Sadly, my kid (yes, I know he is a dog) has been, basically, contemplating suicide with the brutal heat.
Luckily for moi, Nicklas has slept through most of his discontent. He is sleeping much more, being over 12yrs of age, now.
I, On the other hand, am sleeping less (if you can believe that). The heat is one factor. The surgery+Arimadex is another. I am completely disillusioned with both. In my repeated attempts to stay centered, and keep it all in perspective, I force myself to remember LAST year. Even though I currently look like an ostrich (post-surgery dangerbelly, etc) I am finding the laughs. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. (Sound convincing?) LAST year,
I was waaaay more edemic! I was bald. I was embarking on, what would become, The Gongshow of radiation. And this was all before the Heinous Staph Infection.
Yup. Last summer there was no Happy Kachumber salads to occupy my efforts.
Sri Annastasia (May She Rest in Peace) was still alive.
She would have HATED this heat! LOL!
So as I realize all my perceptions regarding This Moment, I am also very grateful. Om Hare Om.
AT THIS MOMENT I AM GRATEFUL because we are playyyyying!
This weekend, we head up to Kelowna for their CENTER OF GRAVITY event!!!! It is allll about sports (bikes, volleyball, roundball, wakeboarding) and entertainment (moi, Kardinal Offishall, Danny Fernandes, dj Grizz Lee, Antipop, Disco Dave, etc.) And I am FREAKING!!!!!!!
I am soooo stoked! There are alotalot of cool athletes up there, competing and showing up their mad skills. I hope to meet some of them. (See their bio pages at www.centerofgravity.ca )
Plus, I’m thrilled to be able to hook up with my pal, Kardinal Offishall. He is def one of my heros!!!! (*gush*)
The temp is supposed to soar well into the 40s all weekend! Ought to make for crazysweaty (HYPERHYDROSIS!) Shows!
I can’t wait!
Playing the gigs and seeing all you beautiful Friends, makes all my Arimadex/healthbullshit/disillusionment go away!!! THANK YOU FOR THAT!!! You continue to be my STRENGTH! And in my remembering LAST year….I was still only DREAMING of playing shows.
*beam* and I visualized the gigs and the sweat and the fun and your beautiful faces!!!!!!!!!! And here we ARE!
May THIS MOMENT find you feeling beautiful and centered and happy and healthy and peacefully calm and positive. Om Nama Shivaya.
Enjoy the heat and marvel at it. :)
I will see you in Kelowna!!!!
Bring your swimsuits!!!!!!!!!! Boooyah!!!! Try the cucmbers (juice em!!!! With a melon!! Yum!!! Sattvic+cooling!!!)
Peace, love, highest blessings and bliss,
Love,
Biffy

Ooh Kelowna!! I think they finally got the forest fires under control there eh? Now there’s one in Whistler :(
I hope the rains come soon and give our beautiful forests a nice quenching.
About the heat: i think I’m getting used to it. Lol! I was actually able to go for a walk yesterday after a long ride on the un-airconditioned bus. When I got home I had a nice cold shower! It felt great! I put my bananas in the fridge to keep them from going brown and nothing feels better than getting out of a cold shower and having a cold banana.
Om nom nom nom. WIN!!

Dear Beth,
Stay centered. Stay positive. Eat lots of cucumbers :-)
You’re one awesome Gal! I think and pray for your health and eternal happiness, always.
Stupid surgery! Stupid Arimidex! You’ll feel better soon.
Have a good trip this weekend. MB and I are headed up to my sister’s cabin at 70 mile house this weekend with our “other child” Runner. Hopefully we’ll beat the heat with icy Bellinis and dips in the lake.
Loving you and sending you my most excellent vibes! Theresa XO

Aaah yes, everyone I know always goes to Kelowna but I have never had the joy of going :( Work, work and more work impedes my ability to enjoy the amount of life that I wish I could, but alas, that’s the way the world works… :P I am better with heat than most people but that makes it worse for me when it gets cold… I feel like I’m going to freeze to death when everyone else is only in light coats and gloves and I have my fuzzy boots, scarf, mittens, and sweater-under-coat! LOL! got to love winter. Amen for seasons, one season would get too boring :P:)

Hey Bif,
My boyfriend and I have 2 bishons and they are hating the heat as well; we have learned that if you dip their paws in cool water, they feel soo much better. Dogs sweat from their paws. I think this would help Nick a lot.
Enjoy the heat, I am here in Campbell River. It’s 1:44am and its 24 degrees out side. Still have all the doors open.

I just wanted to say that I was lucky enough to be in the front row of your AMAZING show last night. You are such an inspiration to everyone, everywhere, and I was so happy to see you up there, doing what you love. You have shown the world that even when the chips are down you can still do the things that make you happy and keep the positivity flowing. I have always been a fan of your music, but am definitely an even bigger fan of YOU.
Keep on rockin’ and don’t melt in this incredible heat!
Peace, love and kachumber salads ;)
