Pedal to the Metal…

Namaste!!! Namaskar!! Salaam!! Howdydoo and hey, hey, hey to all of you! May you be simmering in the soup of happiness. May you be feeling fuckingexcellent and stumulated. Life is astounding. Be astounded! LOL!
The heat has hit Vancouver, thisweek. Nicklas and I are, basically, trying to sleep in the freezer. Alas, the lack of oxygen makes it irrational. Yes, Lovies, its hot-as-hell. (Almost as hot as Nicklas’ Slayer teeshirt, pictured above!!!!) Heh, heh.
(Naw, its a kid’s teeshirt I bought in a rockshop. I cropped it to fit le babydog.)
One week-in to the Arimadex, and I am guessing its no big whoop. I think the heatstrokesque “hotflashes” are increasing in their ferociousness, simply because I’m further+further away from surgeries+ chemo ending.
Its pretty physiologically exciting. LOL!
Buuuuuut, maybe its just the heat?
(Doubt it..)
The bike-lanes-on-Burrard-Bridge are up and operational. (This is beside my house……which is partly why I make mention) as a result, it seems that a lot of people are somewhat chugged by it.
I am guessing they do not have a bicycle, themselves?
I would like to help.
*ahem*
I would like to offer my bicycle to them. (The new one Walker gave me last Valentine’s Day…NOT the treasured, missing one which the song, “My Bike” was written about…THAT GTX-with-the-Mongoose rims-and-chamelion chain, was STOLEN OUT OF DARR’S VAN LAST YEAR, rendering me still heartbroken..had it almost 18yrs in MINT condition…..and NOT my other Haro, it, too ripped-off. Sadsadsad!!!! Yeah, yeah…you know me: learning non-attachment. But it is sad anyway. HellLOWWWW!!!! Stealing is against the law!!!)
Sorry…I digress (biiig shocker!)
Yes, I believe if the haters had their very own, prized bicycle, they may find the new bicycle lanes extremely rewarding! :)
The wind in hair…the fresh feelings of renewal and happiness from endorphins and seratonin releasing…..the waves and “thumbs-up!” Salutes from the waiting cars, filled with envious drivers, dreaming of the rythmic pedals below their tender footies…..
Maybe? Non?
*sigh*
This calls for one saying, and one saying only:
TRY IT. YOU’LL LIKE IT.
*BEAM!*
And, for God’s sake, be careful!!!!!!! My dear friend, Cheryl, on her DAILY (and we are talkin’ COMMITTED!!! Everysingle day, rain-or-shine!) Commute to work…and a parallel-parked car opened the DOOOOR!!!
My poor homegrrl went FLYING! Ass-over-teakettle and in the blink of an eye was en route to emergency at UBC. :(
Om Hare Krishna thank you Ganesha that she wasn’t worse!
She will recover- thank you, Universe.
And….people, let’s get it straight, it wasn’t her fault. She was observing good bicycling rules.
The driver (who, of course felt very badly) simply didn’t look in that mirror.
Please feel better soon, Cheryl…..*hugs*
It reminds us all to look before we leap.
It reminds us to be more “present”.
It reminds us to get the bikes out (for those of you who haven’t yet) and dust em off and git out there!!! :D
Besides, I am home, this weekend, working in the studio (shhhhh!) And gettin’ my Tadasana on. Haha!
Om Shanti..
I will see you guys on the seawall and over the bridge (back+forth, just to keep breakin’ it in!!!) And, IF I can bear the complaints/protests…naughty Nicklas might just be in my basket!!!!!!!
Wave+say hi, if you see us. Oh- and he has asked me to tell you to call him “Metal Nick”. (Yes. He is a “dog”. I do understand. Um….whatEVVVErr..going back to my happy place, now..)
And we will behappy to race around the park. Last one back has to peel the oranges. :)
Enjoy your weekend and remember your centre. Return to it. And keep returning to it.
Especially when stuck in traffic.
Om Nama Shivaya.
Blessings and funloveyenergy,
Love,
Biffy

OMG…Stolen?!!!!! Whoever took it probably has no idea what a treasure they have taken:( That is the saddest story I’ve heard all day!!!!! Girl, you’d be so proud of Chad…he’s been training his ass off…literally…biking hardcore like 15 hours a week! He even trains night rides, heading to the mountain trails with his light and biking late into the night! His 24 hour race is in 1 week! I think he’ll hit his personal best:} I am a proud wife! My little Townie Electra is the bike that has my heart…it’s so cute yet has quality components…I can climb any hill with kids in tow…I love it! I may not do the night rides, but I do O.k.!!!
Saw Fury and the Scatterheart boys last night…kick ass show! Rave reviews from all:}
Hugs,
Aynnie

Aw I’m sorry to hear about your friend and your prized bike getting stolen. How rude! I can’t stand thieves! Or irresponsible drivers. Speaking of bikes, I saw this awesome band open up for Scatterheart a few times called “Bike”. They’re really funny! Anyways, hope you enjoy the nice weather. Wear lots of suncreen! Ciao!

Hey Bif:
Awesome comment on the bridge! Coincidentally, I saw you walking your lil doggy-buddy last night on the north side of the Seawall. Wish I’d seen this blog post before now. I would have stopped and said thanks in person.
best wishes,
CK

I have seen the light and am trying to get my body, mind and spirit all working at optimum levels! Just started trying to cleanse my life of Negative energies and filling it with lots of fresh veggies! You a great inspiration, Plus your blog keeps me motivated!

There are too many people out there who have nothing better to do then steal anything they can get their hand’s on!
My daughter’s 5 and her bike was stolen … people don’t care anymore who it belong’s to as long as they can make a profit off it!
They don’t realize that some of the people they steal from can’t alway’s replace those item’s either….. So a big **** *** to everyone who loves to steal other people’s thing’s!
Riding a bike is a good way of getting around not only GO GREEN kinda thing to do, but more money in your pocket!!!
Here come’s a nice week!

Hi Bif;
Ay carumba; hope you’re friend is Ok! I always hated riding my bike around the City for fear of stupid car drivers! :o
When my brother and I were at Brock together I always worried about him going up and down the escarpment on his bike! Me, I preferred the ‘one foot in front of the other’ mode of transport up the Bruce Trail to school :D.
The road was just too damn scary! :o
Anyway, I love little Nik’s shirt ;).
See ya! :)
