Eyes On the Prize…

NamastenamaskarSalaamSussrekallBonjourHola!!!! Highest Blessings and Positivity to everyone! I trust the weekend couldn’t come at a better time, and I am sending you energy and love from HotVancouver (yup. The weather.)
As you can guess, I am like a chicken-with-my-head-cut-off, running around juggling everything in preparation for TOUR!!! Trying to find balance and pleasure in the craziness of an insane schedule. Wow! Seeking the fun in the stress and rushing, I am pretty excited.
And overcompensating and overbreathing but not quite hyperventilating. Yet. :)
The video shoot, on Monday, was extremely stimulating, as I got to sit, suspended on a beam (18ft off the ground) balancing in Lotus Pose. I did NOT attempt Warrior Pose on said beam! I figured it would be too ironic to fall, breakmyfuckingneck, and die, a week before my tour! LOL!
It was very dusty and lots of “smoke machine” smoke (for lighting and stuff) and I was so parched I couldn’t swallow.
It will be cool to see the edits. I can’t wait!
Rehearsals everyday have been fantastic and fun! Man! Flavio, Jacen, and Darr make me LAUGH OUT LOUD every five minutes! I did pretty good, most of the days, but yesterday I had a terrible rehearsal. :(
I don’t know why, as it goes with vocals, some days/nights you simply sound like shit-for-no-explanation. Wah! *sigh*
Maybe I’m just tired from not sleeping?
(Yes. I’m TRYING)
I’m also trying to de-sensitize myself, and get into a mentality of “austerity” for Life On The Bus.
I’m spoiled, at home. Bathtub. Babydog. Blender. Bed. Bountiful!!!
I am firmly rooted.
And, somewhat attached.
So, in an effort to “get my head in the game” I have been making a concious effort to have a more “chill” attitude. Haha! (Very difficult pour moi, as a completely Flawed Human: neurotic, nervous, worrying, etc.)
We all are this way.
We all feel pretty much the same.
So, though underslept and busy and everything, I am concentrating on TOUR and SHOWS!!! And YOU GUYS!!!!!
It motivates me and keeps me “centered”. So, thank you for that. :)
I’ve included a photo, today, taken from home, hat-on-ugly-hair, with Annastasia’s Ashes in the background (in that white urn…with her photo and Sai Baba’s photo in front). Her Lifeforce still blows through me like a soothing, calm breeze. She was ALWAYS happy. Living for the happiness of other people, like a Bodhisattva. Om Nama Shivaya.
And I endeavour to Live For The Happiness of Other People.
Especially my fans. *gush*
Truth.
I hope you all enjoy a blissful, bountiful, abundant weekend. Shanti Om to you.
Sai Ram.
Love,
Biffy
Xo

Wow, you have been busy! I’m sure the smoke didn’t help your voice! That could probably effect you for days after. The vocal chords are sensitive instruments!

Don’t beat yourself up, Bif. We all have off days :P
I tend to sound like absolute shit on days where my allergies are bothersome, or if I drink alcohol or talk too much. I guarantee you if you’re onstage and you hit a wrong note or something, everyone will be rocking out too hard to even notice! I saw a Scatterheart show years ago and Jesse had a cold. He thought he sounded bad, but I didn’t notice at all. I thought it was an awesome show! I was just happy to be there.
We’re our own worst critics. :)

HEYYO BIFFER!!! Holy fuck, you are fantastic!! I am so entertained by your blogs!
Thank you for not attempting the warrior pose and for not hyperventilating!! Can’t wait to see these videos!! You are a real trooper to be giving up your home comforts to go on tour!! It makes me feel super lucky that I am prob going to see 3 Bif shows in June – especially if I get to see you guys on my birthday in North Battleford!! =)
Your music, live shows and spirit have been providing me with happiness for 13 years now!! Thank YOU for that!! =) My Sister just ran a marathon on the weekend and credits the steady beats of “Amazon Motel” for getting her through it!! I have been listening to the Promise non-stop and my fav songs this week are “King of Karma” and “Save Your Breath”!! I love all the backup vocal layers on the songs – especially on ‘Save Your Breath” – unreal!
Take care and have a super great weekend!!
Liza =)

Hey Bif,
Good to hear all is well, I am a insominac as well. Sleep does NOT come easy.
I can not wait to see you perform on Tuesday at the Voodoo! I bought my ticket the DAY they went on sale. The last time you were here in 2005 I was unable to go…I was only 18 and I had exams…
=( But now you’re here! Woot!
Enjoy the sun and the heat!
