Let’s Get Somethin’ Straight…
Namaste, Salaam, Bonjour, and YAYITSFRIDAY! To all you Superbeautiful People! Welcome to The Weekend (roll Loverboy’s “Workin’ For the Weekend”) congratulations on making it to Daylight-in-the-bank-Savings (don’t forget to set your clocks FOREWARD one hour!!) Spring is officially here, in approximately fifteen more days! Wow. Or maybe it ENDS the “savings-of-daylight”? I can’t keep it straight. Haha!
Like the fuckin’ hair. (See heinous photo-from-this-morning) I mean- thank GODANDTHEUNIVERSE for hats, right?
Yup. Tried a straightening iron. With next week’s promotion/press trip looming, I am of course, trying to be presentable. Hahaha! (And, yes, I’m still grateful everyminute to be out of the pyjamas-and-bald-jaundiced-edemic era) but STILL! Ever the fashionista-rock-beeeyath that I aspire to graduate to.
Grattitude exists, even as I text (yup. The whole blog) from the VGH appointment, this morning, freezing in the thin blue gown, swingin my scuffed cowboy boots from the edge of the exam table, waiting for the next anesthesiologist to have a chat with me…
Long story…
Yes, Lovies, I still am doing obligatory scans-and-imaging-etc-etc that I don’t bore everyone with…….besides- I’m tooo STOKED about the video submissions from everyone!!!!!! OHMYGOD!!! I LOVVVVE YOU GUYS! They range from cute to funny to endearing to frightening (ummm..like the one dude, from South Carolina, who’s idea of fashion is not unlike a “totally naked zombie with contusions” and that’s all I’m sayin’! Haha!) And there is still time to keep em comin’!!! I’m so thrilled to see everyone’s contributions, and I do hope my having put an “example” up for you has helped. :)
It has just been so fun to know that we are ALL contributing! So fun. Delightful, really. Brings me joy each and every day, so thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
Another joy? FUCKIN GUM!!!!! HAHAHHAHA! Yup. You bet. Totally OFF the gum wagon (you may remember I tried to make a New Year’s resolution, resolving to discontinue my joyful gumchewing) well….fuck it (sorry I’m such a “swearer” today..but its fun! And its Friday!) Life is too short to give up EVVVERYthing?? *giggle* cinnamon gum. Gobs of it! I’m lucky I don’t have wicked TMJ from the constant chamming of yummygum!
And, of course, Nicklas. He has been a very good babydog this week, and even got a new toy (a dogtoy of a kitty that makes meow sounds!) He is obsessed with it and sleeps with it beside him. (Awwwww!)
Life is good, aint it? And, its gettin’ warmer, people!!!!! I hope everyone is able to appreciate their geographical uniqueness and look around this weekend, get and inhale deeply, some fresh air. Even cold air. :)
Enjoy and if you have any shyness to send your video, don’t worry!!!!!!!! Most inhabitants of this Earth all feel the same things at some time. We are basically all alike. That’s a wonderful fact of Humans. And I’m sure we will allll feel a drive foreward with the clocks this weekend. We may sometimes stand-and-be still, but time always moves foreward.
And that is the straight truth.

Man, I was nervous about sending a video but once I got started making it I was away and having fun and five hours had passed until it was finished :)
Biffy, your hair is lovely. The promo stuff is gonna be totally kickass! We, your loving fans, love ya and know that you’re working hard… no one’s going to hold your hairstyle against ya, especially considering we’re totally diggin’ it!

I think your hair looked so great and cute in the pic of you at the recording studio, you are still the most beautiful woman ever to me (although I think I am a little biased. Who could give up gum?? Not me, other things yes, but we all have a vice-for me it is juicy fruit. I love these little updates. Thank you for helping some of us to become more grateful for everything we have, enlightenment is highly underrated. We all need it. I love you as much as someone could without actually knowing them!! Not in a creepy way though.

I love xylitol cinnamon gum myself! Why not have a gum fetish? It is a completely harmless addiction, so go for it! Sounds like you are going to have one crazy compilation video! I’m going to try to get mine in before the deadline! I had a stupid stomach virus so I haven’t had a chance to get to yet and not sure if I will dang it! If I don’t I hope you do it again in the future!

Your hair is sexy! Not every woman can pull of a short do (see Victoria Beckam), but you look damn hot!
Keep chomping on the gum…’cause it’s good for your teeth and we look forward to seeing that smile here in Edmonton soon!

Hi Biffy!
I had issues about gum too, but then I got tired of the after taste and quit. I started doing creative things to keep my mind off of it. Like I would eat fruit and drink water. I also got back into writing and that kept my mind off of the gum. I ended up caring a note book with me so I could write when I was away from home. I too loove your new hair cut! Makes you look like a pixie! I just got my hair cut short too recently. My whole identity was about my long hair. And I went to this new hair dresser and I was really nervous. Maybe it was because he looked like osama bin laden, or something with his long beard and the fact I thought he needed a hair cut! But i told him I wanted something to make me look older. So before I know it half of my hair is chopped off!!! I was like ” I didn’t expect it to go that short!” But I loved it anyway. But now I can’t get it to look the way he did it! Grr.
But anyways, I’m glad you’re still alive and kicking! I know what its like to have gone through medical trauma as I’ve been through seven plus surgeries myself when I was 19. You never really get over it. It’s hell. But you can’t make lemonade without squeezing some lemons right?! I think humor and music can get a person through anything and I believe that’s one of the main reasons why I’m still here. And those hospital gowns are something else! What high fashion! If anybody pisses you off all you have to do is bend over! ;) Nurses are amazing tho, they never get enough credit!

Gum is good, non!? ;) I find it gets rid of the ‘icky-old-boot taste” from Chemo!! Did you have that? I found that a horrible side effect! Bleccchh!!! SO gum to the rescue!! ;)
I’m about 5 weeks post treatment and it’s not sooo bad any more, but once in a while, I sure do need that gum again if I have even a HINT of Chemo-mouth!! Go gum! ;)
It was a very nice day on my farm near Stratford Ontario today; spent the day outside with the baby dogs! :) So hopefully when you come to T.O. it’ll be sunny and warm then too!! If not, well bring your toque and mitts anyway ;).

You still look absolutely gorgeous Bif and are still my favorite female obsession. If you’re really hating the hair though and wanting to persue the hat avenue, I’ll crochet ya something :)
I love reading your blogs, they always make me smile. As someone living with chronic health problems, it gives me hope and helps me stay positive to come and read and see just how upbeat you still are after all you’ve been through.
Thank you for your music, it’s helped me through a lot of rough times, I can’t wait for the new albumn.
And cinnamon gum is awesome, especially the Stride. It keeps it’s flavor for a long time, so it cuts down on how many pieces ya gotta be chewing at once.

I’ve been watching a lot of other submissions and I just love them! People are so creative and fun! I can’t wait to see the finished video, I am just so excited to see you up and about and making videos and music and magic! And if gum keeps you sane, what’s the harm right? It’s better than chewing tobacco, or smoking, or drinking. And you know you look beautiful no matter what you do, so don’t worry about your hair, because we all love you no matter what also! ^.^ Get extra sleep due to the daylight savings, keep your energy!

I always love your positivity, makes me feel hopeful, and with everything happening, I think that’s something we need more of now. The shorter hair really brings out your eyes, can imagine in your shows us fans will feel even more connected to you. Can’t wait for the new album, though, honestly, hundreds of listens later Superbeautifulmonster still feels new to me. Thank you, Bif, for giving so much of yourself so freely.

Oh Bif, I absolutely LOVE the short hair.
Recently, I’ve gotten into a spit with my brother, and ended up getting a HUGE wad of gum stuck in my hair, and had to hack it all off. I see how beautiful you are with your short hair, and I have hope. ^_^
A faux hawk would look nice on you too. just sayin lol
